No Social Security payment on December 3 Check the new paydays

On December 3, millions of American seniors began getting their Social Security cheques. You only received this payment if you started receiving retirement benefits before May 1997. Or if you received them later but are currently getting both Supplemental Security Income and retirement benefits in the United States.

Remember that the Administration will deliver 3 more payments. Although they usually appear on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays in December, there is one exception.

Not all Social Security payments will be issued on Wednesdays in December

If you did not qualify for the December 3 payment, you may get Social Security benefits on December 11, 18, or 24.As you can see, only 6 days separate the second and third rounds of payouts.

This is because the Social Security Administration does not make payments on December 25. As a result, the checks and direct deposits will be issued on the prior business day.

Furthermore, you must meet the birthday criterion to get cash on either day. For example, you’ll receive your payment on the 11th, 18th, or 24th if:

  • Dec. 11: born between the 1st and the 10th
  • Dec. 18: born between the 11th and the 20th
  • Dec. 24: born between the 21st and the 31st

How much will retirees receive from Social Security in December?

Retirees will get around $1,927 from the Agency in December. This amount is from the SSA’s COLA Fact Sheets. So, if you don’t get as much money, it could be because you didn’t work for 35 years, filed at age 62, and your wages were modest.

Retirees who filed at 62 can receive up to $2,710. Of course, you must have been a high earner for at least 35 years and have had jobs covered by the Administration.

70-year-olds can receive up to $4,873 in December 2024. If you filed at full retirement age, you might receive up to $3,822. The COLA for retirees will be issued on January 3, 8, 15, and 22, 2025.
