Polish Newlywed’s Tragic Death Linked to Suspected Drug Overdose
A Polish bride’s dream honeymoon in Miami ended in tragedy when she was found dead in the street just 23 days after her wedding. Aleksandra Leczycka, 26, died on August 29, 2022, from what authorities believe was either a drug overdose or a severe allergic reaction to psychoactive chemicals.
Her spouse, Dawid Leczycki, was discovered asleep alongside her on the streets of Miami. He survived the incident, but for more than two years, concerns remained about what caused the couple’s breakdown.
The Siedlce District Prosecutor’s Office in Poland recently completed its investigation, which shed light on the circumstances surrounding Aleksandra’s death.
Initial theories of robbery and doping dismissed
When the couple was located, stripped of cash and jewelry, Miami police assumed they had been drugged and robbed. However, an exhaustive investigation, including forensic and toxicological investigations, revealed that the pair had voluntarily used psychoactive drugs.
“By a decision dated October 23, 2024, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Siedlce discontinued the investigation into the case of Aleksandra L.,” stated Siedlce District Prosecutor Krystyna Golabek. “Extensive investigative measures were implemented, including a request for legal aid from the American side, who produced materials from their investigation. Expert comments on computer science and toxicology were also requested.
Golabek stated that, while the evidence implies the pair used drugs willingly, investigators could not rule out the possibility of involuntary drugging.
A celebration turns tragic
The pair from Siedlce, Poland, married on August 6, 2022, and then traveled to Miami for their honeymoon. Aleksandra’s social media posts from just hours before her murder showed her drinking and relaxing on the beach.
Her untimely death surprised both her family and the local authorities. The cause was officially judged to be a drug overdose or an allergic reaction, although Dawid has yet to respond publicly to the tragedy.
The case serves as a somber reminder of the dangers associated with drug use and the lingering mysteries surrounding the tragic end of a young couple’s celebration of love.
