Omaha NE – Travel may be problematic in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa Monday and Tuesday due to rain and snow.
Rainfall will start Monday afternoon with temperatures in the 40s before dropping to the low 30s Monday night. Snow is expected along Interstate 80 and beyond as the cold front rolls in.
According to the NWS, light snowfall of up to an inch is predicted, with isolated places experiencing 2 inches.
Although warm ground temperatures may melt some, sloppy roadways are likely as snow remains throughout the evening.
Snow is most likely in northeast Nebraska, making travel difficult. Commuters should slow down and be alert, especially after dark.

• Morning: Cloudy with patchy fog and temperatures near 38°F.
• Afternoon: Rain begins, high of 44°F.
• Evening: Rain changes to snow; low of 27°F with wind gusts up to 23 mph.

• Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a high of 33°F, and lingering snow showers tapering off by daybreak.
• New Year’s Day: Sunny but cold, with a high of 34°F and breezy conditions.
• Wednesday: Partly cloudy, high near 32°F, with a slight chance of snow Thursday.
Residents should anticipate delays and monitor local forecasts. The fog advisory lasts until midday Sunday, with some places having visibility under a half-mile.
