MILFORD, Del. :- A Milford man was detained on December 19, 2024, after a Milford Police Officer discovered him slouched in the driver’s seat of a truck near Royal Farms on S. DuPont Blvd.
The police was doing a follow-up inquiry when they checked on the man’s condition and discovered he was under the influence of drugs.
During a search of his vehicle, authorities discovered a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat, which had previously been reported stolen in 2015. The guy, Edward Collins, 59, of Milford, was also found to be forbidden from owning a handgun.
Collins is facing several accusations, including carrying a concealed lethal weapon, possessing a stolen firearm, and being under the influence of drugs while in possession of a firearm. He was also charged with driving under the influence of narcotics and having a controlled substance without a prescription.
Collins was jailed at the Department of Correction on a $25,700 cash bail and an intoxication hold following his appearance in Justice of the Peace Court 2.
