LEONARDTOWN, Md.— On Thursday, December 5, 2024, two individuals were caught and charged with several drug trafficking and firearms violations after a lengthy undercover investigation. Antwian Marquis Johnson, 38, and Shannon Marie Johnson, 37, both of Great Mills, were captured while executing two search and seizure warrants at separate residences in Great Mills and Hollywood. According to the search warrants, officers confiscated roughly 21.5 kilograms (47 pounds) of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl with a street value of $2,160,600.

Early Thursday morning, officers from the Criminal Investigations Division executed a search and seizure warrant at a home in the 45000 block of Daugherty Court in Great Mills. During the search, officers found more than $75,000 in US currency and two guns. A subsequent search of a second residence in Hollywood’s 24000 block of Old Hollywood Road yielded significant quantities of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), including more than 200 individually packaged bags of CDS, indicating high-volume street-level distribution, as well as bulk quantities of CDS, indicating high-level narcotics trafficking. Investigators also seized CDS paraphernalia and four automobiles.

Antwian Marquis Johnson is facing 12 charges, including two counts of CDS possession – large amount, CDS possession with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime, CDS possession – not cannabis, and CDS – proceeds from offense, as well as one count of CDS – production equipment and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a disqualifying crime.

Shannon Marie Johnson has been charged with nine offenses, including two counts of CDS possession – large amount, CDS – proceeds from offense, conspiracy to possess CDS with intent to distribute, and CDS possession – not cannabis, as well as one count of CDS – common nuisance for keeping a vehicle for the purpose of illegally administering the drug.

Both are being held at the Leonardtown Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

Following the arrests, Sheriff Steve Hall stated, “Thursday’s operation was the largest narcotics seizure in the history of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, as well as one of the most significant seizures in Southern Maryland.” I watched the deputies’ great sense of success during the operation, which was only equaled by my pride in them. It is an honor to lead these guardians who fight ceaselessly against those who seek to contaminate our neighborhood.”
