FARGO :- A Fargo man has been charged with felony theft after police say he made over $75,500 in unlawful purchases using his employer’s company credit card.
According to court records, Levi Mayo worked for A&R Drywall and used the business credit card for allowed items such as petrol and building materials, but he was required to submit all receipts. The company’s owner claims that when he recognized the card’s costs were excessive, he began reviewing the bank statement.
According to the owner, Mayo admitted to using the card to buy energy drinks equivalent to a tank of gas three to five times a day, but he didn’t realize the sum was that high.
Mayo said police he had an agreement to repay the owner, but the owner claims he never agreed to the terms.
The alleged theft occurred between November 2023 and May 2024. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in jail and a fine of $20,000.
