Forget the sleigh laden with goodies. Two Middle Georgia people won thousands of dollars in the Georgia Lottery the day before and after Christmas, the business said Friday.
On Christmas Eve, a Milledgeville player paid $3 for a Mega Millions ticket with a Megaplier and won $30,000. The Megaplier tripled the initial $10,000 prize.
A Macon participant won $10,000 in a Georgia 5 drawing on Thursday. The ticket was purchased at Pelican Food Store, 3970 Houston Avenue, Macon.
Try topping that, Santa.
The Mega Millions drawing was held at 11 p.m. on Monday, and the winning ticket was purchased using the Georgia Lottery mobile app.
Georgia Five drawings are held everyday at 12:29 p.m. and 6:59 p.m.
Four additional winning lottery tickets were purchased in Stonecrest, Cumming, Thomson, and Rome, Georgia.
It was unclear if the winners had claimed their awards by Friday afternoon. Winners have 180 days to cash in before their tickets expire.
