A guy was killed in an accident between an SUV and a tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 65 in Butler County.
According to Alabama State Troopers, 77-year-old Robert M. Thomas of Pensacola, Florida, died after the SUV he was riding in collided with the back of the tractor-trailer truck driven by 38-year-old Jose Manuel Valin Cano of Miami Gardens.
According to state troopers, Thomas was thrown from the SUV and died at the scene. In addition, 75-year-old Pensacola resident Gail A. Thomas was injured and transported to Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama in Greenville for treatment.
Cano was also injured and sent to the Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, roughly four miles south of Greenville.
