This monthly payment is ending in November. You can call it SNAP, Food Stamps, or even CalFresh in California. So, it’s time to make a budget for December so that you can plan your grocery shopping for the day you get your benefits from the US Department of Agriculture.
If you live in Texas or Florida, your SNAP benefits may come on the same payday as everyone else who is eligible, but if you live in another state, it could take up to 28 days.

As it turns out, only two states will not begin giving out SNAP benefits during the first week of December. Some of them are South Dakota and Maine. From December 10–14, Maine will put money on EBT cards, but South Dakota will only give out Food Stamps on December 10.

SNAP amounts in December 2024
From December 20, 2024, to September 30, 2025, the maximum amounts will stay the same. There are 48 states in the Union that let a single person on SNAP get up to $292 a month.
People with big families will be able to get the biggest benefit payments. Remember that you can get up to $1,756 if you are 8 years old. Alaska will once again be the state that sends the most money in benefits.
People who live in Alaska’s “Rural 2” areas will get up to $586 for an individual and up to $3,516 for a family of eight. Because of higher prices, Hawaii, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands also send bigger checks.
