If you qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance but not Supplemental Security Income, there are two paydays left in November. SSDI users may get a new monthly payment on November 20. Keep in mind that this will not be the only payday for disability insurance this month. So, depending on your birthday, you will receive either the most recent or the preceding one.
The Social Security Administration has already awarded two SSDI paydays; if you received one of them, you are ineligible for the remaining disability insurance payments in November. If you meet the requirements, you may be eligible for SSI benefits.
SSDI payment in November in less than 48 hours
Eligible recipients with a qualifying disability will get a Social Security Disability Insurance payment on November 20 if:
- they started receiving benefits after May 1997
- they are not receiving SSI benefits
- Their birth date is from 11-20
As you can see, the date of your birthday is important since it determines whether you are eligible for one or many payments. Those with birthdays between the 21st and 31st of any month will receive SSDI payments on November 27, 2024. If you are on SSI, your next payment will be November 29, two days after your Disability Insurance payment.
SSDI maximum and average amounts
The highest SSDI payment will be $3,822 in 2024. This will likewise be the maximum benefit on November 20 or 27. On average, disability insurance payments are substantially lower.
This is because workers must file earlier than retirees owing to medical reasons. The average SSDI benefit as of October 2024 is approximately $1,542. Spouses of disabled workers receive an average of $421.
Children of disabled workers may also be eligible for Social Security Disability Insurance checks, which can be worth around $495. The 2025 COLA rise will not be reflected in disabled beneficiaries’ November payments. The cost of living will rise with January’s paychecks.
