Elizabeth City, Virginia – The Coast Guard is presently looking for a guy who was aboard a sailing vessel departing from Virginia and heading to North Carolina.
According to a Facebook post by the United States Coast Guard Mid-Atlantic, they are now looking for 58-year-old Mark Carroll onboard an overdue 42-foot sailing sailboat with a blue haul named “Ceol Mor.”
Carroll left the Norfolk/Hampton area of Virginia on Thursday evening, intending to proceed south to North Carolina. The Coast Guard says the vessel’s last communication was on Friday evening.
A C130 crew from Air Station Elizabeth City is conducting a trackline search in the region, while local Coast Guard units are doing shoreline searches.
