A Colorado man who allegedly choked a police officer was arrested weeks later for allegedly killing his mother

A guy was arrested for allegedly killing his mother in Loveland, Colorado, weeks after allegedly assaulting a police officer, according to CBS News, 9News, and ABC 7.

Michael Fuller, 30, was detained on Friday, November 1 at 8 p.m. According to a Loveland Police Department Facebook post, his arrest came after a 7 p.m. welfare check-in at Toni Fuller’s home on Foothills Drive. The caller, apparently Toni’s daughter, expressed concern after being unable to reach her mother.

When police arrived, they allegedly discovered Michael in the home and a woman lying on the floor inside. Officers tried to persuade Michael to walk outside and speak with them. The authorities then entered the house and confirmed that the woman had died.

Toni Fuller, 71, died as a result of blunt and sharp force injuries, according to the Larimer County Coroner. Her death was declared a homicide.

Michael was booked into Larimer County Jail. He was accused of first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence, and breaking a protective order. He is being held under a $10 million cash-only bond.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Loveland Police Department Tip Line at 970-962-2032 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868.

According to 9News, Toni was Michael’s mother, as per court records. Toni’s husband sought a protection order for both of them in June 2022, claiming that their son had become physically aggressive as a result of drug and alcohol use.

Michael’s father reportedly placed door locks in their bedrooms and claimed that “threats of violence are always present,” according to 9News.

According to a Loveland Police Department Facebook post, Michael was arrested weeks before his November 1 arrest for threatening a woman in Namaqua Park in Loveland on Wednesday, October 9. Officers responded to the park at 3 p.m. after learning that the woman, who was walking her dog near the park river, was allegedly being shouted at by Michael for not having a cigarette when he asked for one.

He allegedly threatened to kill both her and her dog. He allegedly tossed a beer bottle and a heavy rock at them, according to authorities. She attempted to flee but did not want to leave her puppy behind. According to police, Michael approached before the woman blasted pepper spray in his face and jumped into the river.

When cops arrived, Michael and the alleged victim were in the water. Officers repeatedly asked him to get out of the water. He “appeared to be intoxicated and was slow to comply with directions,” according to the police Facebook post.

“Officers attempted to deploy a Bola wrap (remote restraining device) on him, but the attempt failed. “A few minutes later, officers Bola wrapped him again, and upon officer contact, the male began to physically fight with officers in the water,” police said.

Michael then allegedly grabbed an officer’s neck, attempting to pull him underwater. While being apprehended, he allegedly continued to resist and hurt another officer.

For the Oct. 9 incident, Michael was charged with many offenses, including second-degree assault on a police officer, felony menacing, and resisting arrest, according to the Larimer County Jail.

Michael’s bond was set at $250, and he was released after paying it on October 14, according to 9 News.
