The most significant criteria for receiving a Social Security check this week will be your date of birth. If you qualified for retirement benefits but did not receive them in November, this is your next payday. In fact, you are more than likely to qualify for a payout on November 27, the last paycheck of the month.
The Social Security check or direct deposit on the 27th is for retirees whose birthday falls between the 21st and the 31st, regardless of the month they were born in. It will not be your payday if you are on SSI or received benefits before to May 1997.
How much will Social Security recipients get on Nov. 27?
The amount each Social Security beneficiary receives is different. This is because not all retired workers have the same work history. So, your payment amount depends on:
- The age you file
- The earnings you had as a worker
- The jobs you had and if they were covered by SSA
- The number of years you worked
However, it is possible to determine the average amount. It is around $1,924 as of October 2024. Some retirees can receive up to $2,710 if they file at 62. Seniors who file at full retirement age can receive up to $3,822. When you reach 70, the maximum benefit payment will be $4,873 in 2024.
Social Security payments after Nov. 27
If you do not qualify for a retirement benefit payout on November 27 due to a previous check or deposit, here are some potential upcoming paydays for retirees.
Actually, Social Security’s payment schedule specifies that the next payment following November 27 will be on December 3. To qualify, you must have received benefits since before May 1997 or be on SSI.
Keep in mind that the December SSI payment will be issued on November 29, 2024. It will be issued ahead of schedule to avoid delays due to SSA offices being closed on December 1, 2024. Other qualified retirees will receive payments on Wednesdays December 11, 18, and 24.
