On Sunday, West Virginia’s governor praised Mountain State miners for their efforts to rebuild in western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene.
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice posted a photo on Sunday of nine men who are credited with helping restore a route from Bat Cave to Chimney Rock, North Carolina.
“Another reminder of why West Virginia miners are the absolute best in the world,” he said.
The group garnered popularity on social media after footage were uploaded of them helping to reconstruct the road.
