On ERFD, the Rockingham Lions Club is selling barbeque

Two groups in the area are planning to hold barbeque plate events soon.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, grilling or chicken plates will be for sale at the East Rockingham Fire Department station on Airport Road.

Plates come with baked beans, coleslaw, and hushpuppies, and you can eat there or take it with you. Orders of five or more can be delivered.

Smoked meat will only be sold by the pound after 2 p.m.

The Rockingham Lions Club will sell barbeque plates at the building on U.S. 220 in Rockingham next Thursday, Oct. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There are also baked beans, slaw, a roll, and a dessert on each plate. One-pound containers can be picked up between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

People who can not pay for eye exams or glasses get them paid for by the Lions Club.
