FEMA notifies the public in North Carolina

RALEIGH – There is a notice in the public area about FEMA help that is available and planned FEMA-funded actions that may have an impact on historic properties, threatened and endangered species, critical habitat, wetlands and floodplains in North Carolina.

Law says that after Tropical Storm Helene is declared a major disaster, FEMA has to let the public know about its plans to offer federal help and grant chances through the Individual Assistance, Public Assistance, and Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs.

To see the public notice, go to https://www.fema.gov/disaster-federal-register-notice/dr-4827-nc-public-notice on FEMA’s website and https://www.ncdps.gov/our-organization/emergency-management/hurricane-helene on the website for the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management.

This could be the only notice to the world. Write to the Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 4, 3005 Chamblee Tucker Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30341-4112, or email [email protected] to find out more about these actions or a particular project.

Please put “DR-4827-nc EHAD” in the subject line of the email. Within 30 days of the date of this warning, you should send your thoughts in writing.
