A North Carolina man says his son died as a result of drugs. He then shoots SC person that gave them to him, report says

Police in Horry County, South Carolina, say that earlier this month, a man from North Carolina shot and killed a man he said had sold drugs to his son.

On Oct. 11, David Grice, 60, was arrested for attempted murder, burglary, having a weapon while committing a crime, driving while drunk, and having drugs with the plan to sell them. He has no bail and is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

According to the arrest warrants, Grice went to the victim’s home near Loris and told the man that he sold drugs to Grice’s son that day that killed him. He then shot the person in the chest and arm and then left. The cops found Grice on the road and his car in the ditch when they got there.

When the cops searched Grice, they found a white powder that was.6 grams in weight and wrapped in wax paper. The test showed that the powder was fentanyl.

Grice told a South Carolina Highway Patrol officer that he got lost on the way to Red Bluff to visit his sister. Then, he pulled into the driveway to go back, but the SCHP report says he backed into a ditch by chance.

The police officer could smell booze on Grice’s breath and made him take several sobriety tests, which he failed at least one of. After that, he was jailed for driving while drunk.
