You had to apply for SNAP or CalFresh in California before you could get them where you live. You can only apply in the state where you live. Of course, you need to get permission from the Food Stamps office.

Most requirements have to do with resources and income limits, but there may be other conditions that need to be met as well. From October 1 to October 10, California will send money to people who are qualified.

How will California arrange paydays for the SNAP or CalFresh program?

Now that you know California sends CalFresh funds in the first few days of October, let’s look at when people get paid. In California, the case number is used.

Government will give money to people whose case number ends in 1 on October 1. If the last number in your case number is 2, you will get your Food Stamps check on October 2.

  • Case number ending in 3: payday on the 3rd
  • Case number ending in 4: payday on the 4th
  • Case number ending in 5: payday on the 5th
  • Case number ending in 6: payday on the 6th
  • Case number ending in 7: payday on the 7th
  • Case number ending in 8: payday on the 8th
  • Case number ending in 9: payday on the 9th
  • Case number ending in 0: payday on the 10th

CalFresh payment amounts for SNAP recipients

California’s highest SNAP amounts are the same as those in the 48 states that are next to it. There is, however, a big difference between the August and September payouts.

There will be new SNAP rates starting October 1. Cost of living changes will happen, but they will be small. Because of this, there won’t be a big change between the amounts people get paid in September and October.

Also, keep in mind that Able-Body Adults Without Dependents aged 53 to 54 will have to meet certain work standards and will only be able to get CalFresh for a certain amount of time. With the COLA increase, the following are the new highest SNAP amounts:

  • 1 $292
  • 2 $536
  • 3 $768
  • 4 $975
  • 5 $1,158
  • 6 $1,390
  • 7 $1,536
  • 8 $1,756
