Jessica Dooly wrote on her Facebook page about a recent trip to Walmart, where she was very upset with how the store’s checkout process worked. Dooly said she was very upset that she had to wait in a long line with a cart full of things.
From what she said, she went to the self-checkout lane after she was done shopping. She was told to use the regular checkout line, though, because she had so many things in her cart. “I hate small talk so much.” I like self-checkout lines a lot. “Thank goodness my cashier was nice and didn’t talk too much,” Dooly said.
A lot of people, including Jessica, like self-checkout lines because they save them time and don’t have to make small talk. The faster and more efficient shopping experience in these lanes is great for people who are in a hurry or just like things to run more smoothly.
Walmart’s rules are meant to keep things running smoothly and manage the flow of customers, but they can make shoppers angry when they’re not supposed to. Finding the right balance between quick service and happy customers is hard and needs constant tweaking.
