If your birthday is between September 11 and September 20, the second set of payments will be made on September 18. On September 25, if your birthday is after September 20, you will get the most money when you retire.

  • filed at the age of 70
  • worked for a minimum of 35 years but often longer
  • earned the taxable maximum for 35 years
  • had jobs covered by SSA

You can get up to $4,873 in September if you have done all of these things. You can get up to $2,710 if you meet almost all the standards but file when you are 62. You can only get up to $3,822 if you file when you reach full retirement age.
