Virginia anti-pipeline campaigners think about their past wins as they plan their next steps

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Almost five years have passed since the Atlantic Coast Pipeline project was shelved.

It was planned that a 600-mile natural gas pipeline would go through the mountains of West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina.

Third Act Virginia, a group that fights climate change, held a meeting where experienced activists could talk about their work against the pipeline project.

Independent reporter Jonathan Mingle said, “People in rural parts of Virginia were very worried about how it would affect their water quality, safety, and property rights.” “People who fought against this project brought up a lot of worries.”

Third Act Virginia also talked about how it plans to fight the Mountain Valley Pipeline and any extensions that are being considered.
