This is the Piedmont Triad prediction for the upcoming workweek!

(WGHP) — Tonight it will be mostly cloudy, and there is a very small chance of a shower. It gets cooler in the 60s after 8 PM.

It will be gloomy and cold in the low 60s to start the day on Monday. Highs will try to get into the upper 60s, and the chance of rain will rise in the afternoon and evening.

Possible Tropical Cyclone 8 has formed off the coast of North Carolina. By Monday morning, it could get stronger and turn into a Tropical Storm. Moving northwest, it will cross North Carolina on Tuesday. The Triad will have windy and rainy weather to start the work week because of this tropical storm.

Heavy rain will fall at times, and winds from the northeast will blow 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph possible. The windiest parts are expected to hit late Monday night or early Tuesday morning. You should either tie down or bring inside any loose things in your yard during this event.

The Triad might get more rain from this storm if it can move farther west. At this point, it looks like we might get one to two inches of rain, with some places getting over three inches.

Because it might rain a lot, there is a chance that some places will experience flash flooding. Also, late Monday night into Tuesday morning looks like the worst time for flash floods.

We will keep a close eye on the tropical system’s path because it could cause us to change our prediction.

Because of an Omega block pattern, it will continue to rain even after the tropical storm moves away. In this case, two low pressure systems are on different coasts (east coast and west coast), and a high pressure system stays over the middle of the United States.

As of right now, we’re not expecting a storm because of the omega block pattern, which means it will rain off and on this week. After Tuesday, there is still a 30% chance that it will rain, which means that showers will still be possible every day.

Beginning Wednesday, the sky will be partly foggy, and the morning temperature will be in the mid-60s. The high temperature will be in the upper-70s.

Thursday will have a mix of sun and clouds. Highs will be in the upper 70s and morning temperatures will be in the mid-60s.

Friday, the sky will stay partly cloudy, and the high temperature will stay in the upper 70s. The morning temperature will be in the mid-60s.

The lows on Saturday and Sunday morning will be in the low 60s, and the highs will be in the mid-70s. Sunday through Thursday will be partly cloudy, and there is a 20% chance that it will rain.
