The Lady Raiders are still having a hard time at Pine Forest

FAYETTEVILLE — Wednesday, the Lady Raider volleyball team got stuck in the middle of a game and couldn’t figure out how to get past it.

Because Richmond Senior High School and head coach Ashleigh Larsen had lost seven games in a row, they decided not to play in any conference games.

It was hard for the Lady Raiders to finish off the regular season sweep of the Lady Trojans at Pine Forest High School. They lost both of their games. The game was won by Pine Forest 3-0.

The scores in each set were 18–25, 22–25, and 21–25.

Richmond (5-9, 1-5 SAC) will play Southern Lee High School (5-7, 0-6 SAC) on Thursday at home. The Sandhills Athletic Conference match is set to start at 6 p.m. with the first serve.

JV Lady Raiders also fall

The Richmond JV volleyball team also lost in straight sets on Wednesday in junior varsity play.

Pine Forest beat the JV Lady Raiders 2-0. The scores in each set were 16–25 and 18–25.

Head coach Melissa Dennis said, “We just couldn’t find our groove.” “Everything was in Pine Forest.” It would get passed around well, but we couldn’t connect at the net.

“We didn’t have as much energy and momentum as we did on Tuesday against Scotland.”

The JV Lady Raiders (6-7, 3-3 SAC) will also play Lee County on Thursday at 5 p.m. at home.
