The judge doesn't agree with suspect James Dunmore's request to throw out the murder case of Allisha Watts

A request to throw out the case against James Dunmore, who is accused of killing his girlfriend Allisha Watts, was turned down by a judge.

In his decision on Monday, the judge said that going ahead would not cause Dunmore any irreversible harm.

It was known that Dunmore was seeing Watts, 39, when she died. Her body was found in a graveyard near the line between Richmond and Montgomery Counties on August 24, 2023. She had not been seen with him in more than a month.

Dunmore’s lawyer had been asking the judge to drop the charges, saying that there wasn’t enough evidence to hold their client guilty.

Video footage from home cameras and 911 calls are used as proof.

That description has been pushed back against by the prosecutors. They said that some of the proof had been turned in and said that the defense was to blame for not seeing it.

Prosecutors also said that the fact that Watts’ autopsy said her death was “undetermined” does not mean that she was not murdered.
