Hey, at least they didn’t lose by 37 points this time, right?
Let’s talk about the good and bad plays from the Carolina Panthers’ 26-3 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday as we pick up the pieces of another sad loss.
Dud: QB Bryce Young
You were ready for this one. Young threw for only 84 yards and 3.2 yards per attempt, which are both career lows. He also threw his third pick of the season.
Dud: HC Dave Canales
The person in charge of the crime is also partly to blame. The Panthers only completed one of their 12 third-down chances, and they only attempted three passes that went at least 10 yards downfield.
Stud: RB Chuba Hubbard
After a bad start in 2024, Hubbard got off to a good start in Week 2. He ran 10 times for 64 yards and caught four passes for another 12 yards.
Dud: RB Miles Sanders
Sanders didn’t take advantage of his chances like his running partner did. Twenty yards came from running seven times, and five yards came from three catches.
Studs: ILBs Shaq Thompson and Josey Jewell
Even though the Panthers defense let 219 running yards go through them, which was still way too much, they weren’t as bad as they were last week. Because Pro Bowl defensive lineman Derrick Brown was hurt, Thompson (14 tackles) and Jewell (11 tackles) had to work hard to keep the team together.
