Soon, people who get SSI, SSDI, or Social Security retirement benefits will get their next payouts

People who get retirement, SSDI, or SSI benefits from Social Security can see when their next payment is coming. This will help them organize their regular costs and make a good budget.

The payment plan for Social Security makes it clear when the next check or direct deposit will be sent to people who get SSDI or retirement benefits. It’s going to be the last one of the month. So, not yet for SSI.

Social Security, SSDI, and SSI payments coming soon

On September 25, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will send a new payment to retirees and people who get SSDI. For people who didn’t qualify for the earlier payments on September 3, 11, or 18, this will be a check or direct deposit.

Here are the things you need to do to make sure you get these Social Security checks on September 25:

  • Applied for Social Security retirement or disability benefits
  • Got approval
  • Did not break any SSA rules
  • Were born from the 21st to the 31st
  • Is not a recipient of SSI
  • Did not get benefits before May 1997

People who get Supplemental Security Income will have to wait until October to get their money. You won’t have to wait long, though, because your SSI checks and direct payments will arrive on October 1. See below for how much you can get from Social Security retirement, SSDI, and SSI.

Payment amounts Social Security retirement, SSDI, and SSI benefits

Remember that the 2025 COLA raise will not be part of these monthly payments. That means the highest amounts for retirement, SSI, and SSDI have not changed.

On average, Social Security retirement benefits are worth $1,920. The average SSDI salary is about $1,539, which is close to $1,540. If you get SSI, the most you can get is $943 for a single person and $1,415 for a married couple. About $698 on average for everyone who gets it.

The biggest benefit payments, worth $4,873, can be given to retirees. However, few American workers get so much money. People who get SSDI can only get up to $3,822, the same amount as workers who file at Full Retirement Age.
