Rainfall and thunderstorms in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina

Hello everyone, it’s afternoon. Like we thought they would, we are seeing heavy rain and clouds spread across parts of south Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

More clouds that look like popcorn are being caused by tropical energy that is still around, as well as sunshine and warm, muggy air. Many of these storms have been strong to severe, with harmful winds, small hail, lots of lightning, and heavy rain.

Not everyone will be affected by the storm today, but some people in eastern South Carolina, central and eastern North Carolina, and central and southern Florida could see some bad weather. Strong winds, hail, flooding rains, and the chance of a few waterspouts for areas close to the coast are still the major risks.

We think this behavior will continue into the late afternoon and evening, and then slowly stop as the night goes on.
