Politics Monday: How the election is affected by younger voters

Politics Monday How the election is affected by younger voters

The 2024 race will likely be shaped by young people. A study by the Berkeley Institute of Young Americans says this is not a new thing. This group made a “big, important difference” in the 2018 and 2022 general elections and in the 2020 election.

The study also found that these young people, no matter what party they belong to, think our society is broken and that the government should help fix it.

All of this means that the youngest voters could make a huge difference in this race. A study from Tufts University found that in their first midterm election, Generation Z voters turned out in much larger numbers than in previous elections.

This generation is different, they care about certain problems, and both parties are trying to get them to vote, especially in swing states like North Carolina. On the next Charlotte Talks, we’ll talk about these things.
