Late Friday night, a customer got angry while waiting for his food, and cops say the worker was shot and killed.
The Laurinburg Police Department says the crime took place at the Waffle House at 1302 Scotland Crossing Dr., just after 12:40 a.m., near where Interstate 74 and U.S. 15 meet.
Burlie Dawson Locklear, 18, of Red Springs was found inside the restaurant with a gunshot wound when the police came. He was taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital and died there.
Investigators say the person went to Waffle House and placed an order for food. But while his food was being made, he got angry and started swearing at the workers.
When the man got his food, he went back to his car and fired two shots at the restaurant, killing Locklear. The man then drove off on West Boulevard via Scotland Drive.
The person who did the killing is being sought by police. He is said to be black, have light skin, long dreadlocks, body hair like a beard and mustache, and be between 5’8″ and 5’10” tall and weigh between 140lbs and 18lbs. He wore a dark blue hoodie, blue pants, and white shoes the last time he was seen.
Police said he was driving a dark gray car that might have been a 2014 Chevrolet.
