A man is accused of killing his wife and a friend with a gun, then sending a picture of the bodies to the wife of his dead friend. Jonathan Freeman is charged with killing his wife Teri and his friend Bryan Burr on Saturday morning in Woodleaf, North Carolina, at Burr’s house.
Police were called to the house because Amanda Burr, Burr’s angry wife, said she got a picture from Freeman that she thought showed her dead husband and his dead wife. The shootings did not happen at Mrs. Burr’s house.
Freeman was still there when the police arrived. Police say Freeman told them that his wife and friend were dead inside the house and admitted to killing both of them.
The police arrested Freeman right away and searched his bloody home for proof. After that, they charged him with killing two people.
A reason for the killings has not been found yet, but the two families are thought to have been close because there are pictures on social media of them partying with each other in different settings.
A police spokesman said, “Investigators got a search warrant for the property that Amanda and Bryan live in.” Detectives charged Jonathan with two counts of murder based on evidence found at the scene of the crimes and confessions he made to people he talked to after the killings. No bond was set for him, so he was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center. His first court date is August 17, 2018.
