North Carolina has two of the most dangerous bridges in the United States

Ever meet someone who is scared to drive over bridges? I just did it, and it threw me off at first.

I could see how that would be disturbing when my friend told me that some bridges scare her because she is afraid of heights.

That’s why I looked up a list of the most dangerous bridges in the country. Based on what Explored Planet says, a few of them live in North Carolina!

Because it has flipped over more cars and trucks than any other bridge in North Carolina, the Norfolk Southern–Gregson Street Overpass is known as “the Can Opener.” There is a train in Durham that uses the bridge. There is danger below the bridge, not above it.

The “worst bridge in North Carolina” in Greensboro is Bridge 299. Every day, more than 134,000 cars drive over it. People have called it one of the most dangerous bridges in the U.S. because it’s in such bad shape, but no work has been done yet.
