People everywhere are busy during the holidays, including stores.
A lot of businesses have already started hiring for holiday jobs, months before some of the busiest times of the year. Triangle residents can apply for these jobs.
Here is some advice on how to apply for seasonal jobs in the Raleigh area.
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Kohl’s
The department store Kohl’s wants to hire more than 200 seasonal workers in the Raleigh area to work in stores, delivery centres, and e-commerce fulfilment centres.
Anyone who wants to apply for a job at Kohl’s can go to any of the stores in the Triangle on September 20 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and have an interview right there.
You can also apply online at careers.kohls.com/seasonal or by texting the word “Apply” to 24508.
People who work seasonal jobs can set their own hours, get paid once a week, and get a 15% discount on holiday shopping.
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Bath & Body Works
It is known for its personal care and home fragrance goods. Bath & Body Works is hiring 30,000 new seasonal workers for its more than 1,800 stores in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico, the company said.
On September 28, there will be a national event to hire store associates. People who are interested can go to a nearby store to be interviewed, and those who are fit will be given job offers right away.
However, you can also apply for holiday jobs online until October 26 (go to joinbbw.com). For the summer, Bath & Body Works was hiring at several stores in the Triangle as of September 19. These stores were in Raleigh’s Brier Creek Commons, Morrisville’s Park West Village, and Cary’s Crossroads Plaza.
Seasonal associates are offered benefits including:
- A 40% discount at Bath & Body Works stores
- Daily Pay, which offers access to earned wages ahead of payday
- The possibility to transition seasonal jobs into long-term employment opportunities at the company
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Target
This year, the store is going to hire about 100,000 seasonal workers for its more than 50 supply chain sites and nearly 2,000 stores.
Most of the seasonal jobs in-store are for front-of-store workers, fulfilment experts, general merchandise experts, food and beverage experts, and style advisors. At facilities in the supply line, there are jobs that involve running warehouses.
From September 25, people who want to work in stores can apply at TargetSeasonalJobs.com. For those jobs, pre-recorded video and online interviews will be used.
Online applications are already being taken for jobs in the supply chain. Target.com/careers has a list of open jobs.
People who work summer jobs at Target can:
- A starting wage ranging from $15-$24 per hour
- Health and well-being benefits, including 24/7 access to virtual health care and free and confidential counseling services
- Opportunities for growth and development
- Flexible schedules
- Discounts on merchandise
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Macy’s
The company wants to hire more than 31,500 seasonal full- and part-time workers for its Macy’s, Bloomindale’s, and Bluemercury shops and distribution centres all over the United States.
People who are interested can apply online at macysjobs.com or by going to any Macy’s store during one of the company’s hiring events, where they will be able to have an instant interview on-site. These events will take place at:
- Sept. 26
- Oct. 24
- Nov. 21
- Dec. 4
As of September 19, jobs are open at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham, Crabtree Mall, and Triangle Town Centre in Raleigh.
How to apply for seasonal jobs at Dick’s Sporting Goods
Dick’s Sporting Goods, a store, added a few holiday jobs to its online job board on September 19.
Some of the North Carolina shops that the company is looking for part-time salespeople for are in Raleigh, Apex, Holly Springs, Garner, Durham, and Cary.
You can look at open jobs at dickssportinggoods.jobs and apply for them there.
How to apply for jobs at ALDI
The German grocery store chain ALDI said it is hiring thousands of people across the country to work in its stores and warehouses.
The jobs aren’t exactly seasonal, but the grocery store chain is opening new stores in the U.S. and getting ready for the holidays, so there are chances to work there.
As of September 19, ALDI is hiring full-time workers in Cary and a part-time cashier/stocker in Durham. At careers.aldi.us, you can look for open jobs.
ALDI workers get the following benefits:
- Average starting wage of $18 per hour for store positions, based on market and position.
- Anyone working more than 30 hours each week has access to health insurance and paid time off.
- Opportunities for career advancement
