Lumberton, North Carolina — The Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) has given Tilder Jane Hunt a nursing scholarship. Hunt works as a certified nurse aid at Lindenwood, a senior living community in Lumberton run by LSC.

Twenty of her LSC friends in North and South Carolina will each get $65,966 to help pay for school during the 2024–2025 school year.

The Nursing Scholarship helps any teammate who works in an LSC senior care neighborhood pay for nursing school at a community college. Hunt is going to Bladen Community College to become a qualified practical nurse.

CEO and President of LSC Ted W. Goins, Jr. said, “LSC is committed to lifelong learning and growth.” “We’re thrilled that our 20 scholarship-winning teammates are learning new things that will help them and our organization.”

LSC is a non-profit group that helps more than 10,000 people in North and South Carolina. Additionally, it runs seven refugee resettlement offices in North and South Carolina and eleven senior living communities in North Carolina.

It also runs adult day programs and group homes, foster care and adoption services, mental health and recovery services, and emergency response services.
