People who get SSDI can get a new salary as early as October 3, 2024. It will depend on when you started getting Social Security Disability Insurance and whether you are also getting SSI.
In this case, if you are qualified for both SSI and SSDI on October 1, 2024, your next payment date will be October 3, 2024. People who began getting payouts before May 1997 will also get the payment on the third.
SSDI payments after October 3
According to Social Security’s payout schedule, SSDI payments will be made on three different paydays after October 3, 2024. These checks will actually be sent on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays in October.
- Disability Insurance on October 9: birth date from 1-10
- Disability Insurance on October 16: born from 11-20
- Disability Insurance on October 23: birthday from 21-31
Please note that these payments are only for people who get SSDI and don’t qualify for the payment on the third. Also, the amount of your payment will depend on how much you earned and how old you were when you filed.

In the U.S., people who get Social Security Disability Insurance get an average payment of $1,539 per month. Some low-income people may have been able to get a smaller check, though, so they may also get SSI.
Workers who have a disability can sometimes get up to $3,822. But you can only do this if you worked in jobs covered by SSA for 35 years and made the maximum amount of tax. You can also file as late as SSA lets you.
If a worker with a disability gets SSDI, their spouse or child can also get payments on the same dates. Though, the amounts will be a lot less—maybe $421 and $492, to be exact. If you are disabled and have medical proof, now is the time to apply for this benefit if you think it will last more than a year.
