Helene is blamed for at least two deaths in North Carolina, and the mountains are being hit by terrible storms

Following its impact in the Big Bend of Florida, Hurricane Helene caused flooding all over the Southeast.

Some roads and parking places in the town of Boone, North Carolina, were washed away by floodwaters.

Roads that have broken apart because the ground beneath them has washed away are shown below.

In Ashe County, further north, roads were washed away by floodwaters that were high enough to reach the Jeep’s cab.

It was possible to see more wet roads in Buncombe County, which is home to Asheville.

At the same time, some roads were littered with rubble from flooding.

At least two people have died because of the storm as of Friday afternoon. In Charlotte, a tree fell on a house and killed one person. In Claremont, a 4-year-old child died in a crash.
