MYRTLE BEACH, SC – After the storm along the coast on Monday, the rest of the week should be quiet, and today the sun is coming back. The heat will be coming back, and there will be a few storms in the middle of the week.
TODAY
As the center of the low moves into North Carolina today, clouds will stay around this morning, especially in the middle of the state. Today, the clouds will slowly lift, and by the middle of the morning, there will be more frequent breaks of sunshine along the beaches. Inland places will see more of these breaks through the early afternoon.
There’s a chance that a few drops of rain will fall in rural areas today, but the trend toward clearing will make most places dry. The high today will be in the upper 70s and the low will be near 80.
NEXT RAIN CHANCE
The coastal storm was caused by low pressure that will move to our north and then east through the middle of the week. This will bring more heat and the chance of a few showers and storms on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The most likely time for rain and storms to happen is this Thursday afternoon, when it will be the wettest.
It’s going to rain and storm a few times, but not enough to stop any outdoor plans for Thursday. The highs will get up to the low 80s by the end of the work week.
THIS WEEKEND
At the end of the week and into the weekend, drier air will move in on the backside of the storm. This will keep Saturday and Sunday beautiful.
The most up-to-date information from this morning still points to mostly sunny skies with a few fair weather clouds in the afternoon.
The low to mid-60s will be the temperature in the morning, and the upper 70s to near 80s will be the temperature in the afternoon. Compared to what was predicted for last weekend, this weekend looks like it will be great.
