DOMESTIC MURDER 31-year-old woman charged with stabbing and killing a guy in the Bronx

NEW YORK — A 31-year-old woman is accused of killing a man early Sunday morning in what cops called a case of domestic violence.

Karen Payne was caught on Sunday at 12:40 p.m. She is being charged with second-degree murder, two counts of manslaughter, and illegally having a gun.

At 4:14 a.m. on Sunday, police were called to the area of Lincoln Avenue and East 132nd Street in Mott Haven. They found 36-year-old Joshua Johnson with a cut on his leg.

He was taken by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, but he died there from his injuries.

Police said that after more research, they found that the person had been killed and that the wound was caused by a knife.

Johnson and Payne lived together at 5 Lincoln Ave., which was very close to where the murder happened. The police said that their bond was “domestic in nature.”

It wasn’t clear right away why the murder happened.
