The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said that a man was charged with arson after a “disturbance” at a house.
Around 8 p.m. on August 23, police were called to the 190 block of Trantham Road in Reidsville because of a fire and a report of a disturbance.
Investigators said they worked with the Rockingham County Fire Marshal’s Office and Safe Labs Forensic Laboratory Services to find proof that the fire was intentionally set.
The person who lived at the scene of the fire, Jonas Strictland, was charged with second-degree burning after the investigation was over.
He was caught and taken to the Rockingham County Detention Facility without a bond.
