EDEN, N.C. (WGHP) — A big healthcare system in the Triad said it would build a medical center in Eden. It will cost $3.5 million for Cone Health to make it happen.
The building will bring more medical services to the city by combining them into one place. It will be in the Dayspring Family Medicine building at 723 S. Van Buren Rd.
“For our patients and residents, it’s very important that services are just down the hall and not across town,” Deno Adkins, Senior Vice President for Ambulatory and Consumer Services at Cone Health, said.
When Cone Health builds a new medical center on Van Buren Road, they want to offer services that are convenient, preventative, and good for your health.
There will be a Sagewell Health & Fitness Facility and a neighborhood pharmacy there. The pharmacy will be right next to Dayspring Family Medicine, which is a basic care office.
The position should make it easy for patients to get their prescriptions before leaving the complex.
Adkins said, “Cone Health is committed to making sure that the services we offer work well with the services that are already available.”
Rehabilitation, urology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, imaging, and general surgery are some of the other services that Cone Health plans offer.
“That is really important.” Adkins said, “When we looked at our primary care services, like family medicine and internal medicine, we really thought about what services make it easy for a patient not to have to leave the community.”
Lidl had planned to open a food store in the building, but in 2018 they pulled out. At the moment, four other businesses are using it.
For the hospital complex, the health care system wants to fix up 12,000 square feet of the building.

Cone Health is making plans and designs for the hospital complex right now. The first service to start will be Sagewell Health and Fitness, with plants set to open in early 2025.
