Asbestos is being found in baby powder bottles that were sold in North Carolina.
Based on information from the Food and Drug Administration, Dynarex has taken back its Dynacare baby powder because it might contain asbestos.
The baby powder was put in 14-ounce plastic bottles, 24 bottles per case, and had the batch/lot number B051 written on them. On the bottom of the bottle, it says “Expiration Date: 2026/12/28.”
The goods were sent to retailers on or after March 11. The baby powder was sent to 12 states, including North Carolina, and sold on Amazon.com.
The goods in question will go bad on December 28, 2026.
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that can be found near talc. It is known to cause cancer. It’s possible for asbestos to get into the talc during mining if the places aren’t carefully chosen or if enough steps aren’t taken to clean the talc ore.
The FDA did a routine sampling program that showed the finished goods had asbestos in them, which led to the recall. Because of the probe, the company has stopped selling the product while they figure out what tainted the talc.
Customers are told to stop using the item and send it back to get their money back in full. Nothing sick has been reported yet.
People who bought Dynacare Baby Powder, Batch Number B 051, should stop using it right away and send it back to get their money back.
