(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Several school districts east of Charlotte will either be closed or have a two-hour delay on Tuesday, September 17, because of bad weather that is predicted.
- Anson County Schools will be closed for students. The district cites the forecast of high winds and possible power outages. This will be an optional workday for employees with a two-hour delay, and the closure means Oct. 25 will become a regular school day.
- Union County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay. All schools and offices will open and buses will run two hours later than the normal time.
- Stanly County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay
- Richmond County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight is moving in off the coast and having an affect on the area. Heavy rain and strong winds hit the Charlotte area on Monday night and are expected to stay there until Tuesday morning. For Charlotte and the eastern areas, there is a Flood Watch and a Wind Advisories.
