Accused lunatic who attacked man for bumping into him at NYC subway station is released without bond

A crazy man with a knife is said to have stabbed a man in the back at a Manhattan train station because the man accidentally bumped into him on the stairs. The man was freed without bail on Tuesday.

Police say that 23-year-old Raymond Kwok brutally stabbed a man, 29, just before 9 p.m. on September 20 at the L train station at 14th Street and First Avenue in the East Village.

The victim was trying to walk down the stairs to the station when he accidentally ran into Kwok. This led to a fight between the two, according to the police.

Cops say Kwok then stabbed the victim in the back with a knife and ran away. Kwok does not seem to have a crime record.

The attacker, whose attack was caught on security video, was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition to get stitches.

Kwok was caught at the same subway stop on September 23. He lives in the East Village. At his arraignment in Manhattan on Tuesday, officials said that police found three knives, including a switchblade, in his pockets.

A second-degree assault charge, an attempted attack charge, and a weapon possession charge were all brought against him.

The prosecutors wanted to hold Kwok on $25,000 cash bail, but Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Michael Gaffey chose to let him go on supervised release even though the charges were light enough for bail.

Kwok has to go back to court on October 31.
