Supreme Court’s Decision: A Blow to Student Borrowers
NewRepublic says that The Supreme Court has made a big choice. They turned down the SAVE plan to help people with college loans. This plan was made to help students who owe a lot of money. The court said the president didn’t have the right to make the plan, so it can’t happen.
President Biden came up with the plan. It was created to assist students who are unable to settle their debts. The Government said that a lot of students would be able to pay less each month. But some states didn’t agree with the idea. They said the president shouldn’t have gone without first being asked by Congress.
Student Debt Relief Plan Stalled: Supreme Court Says No
They will not get the help they were looking for because of the court’s decision. A lot of people are mad about this. The fact that kids have a lot of debt bothers them. The Supreme Court is likely to hear the case again. As of right now, students will still have to pay back their loans.
