Social Security: Here are this week s retirement and disability payments, no SSI check yet

Social Security Here are this week’s retirement and disability payments, no SSI check yet

Find out if you can get your Social Security payment within hours, some direct deposits or checks will be issued soon for retirement and SSDI

Not long from now, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will send direct payments. So, if you haven’t gotten your regular payment yet, check to see if you can get this money.

Remember that you won’t be able to get it if you started getting Social Security before May 1997. As well, people who get SSI (Supplemental Security Income) payments do not qualify.

You can see from the list above that this week’s Social Security payment will not be the last one. There will actually be more direct payments on the fourth Wednesday of August. But how much will the people who get it get? And will the 2025 COLA be given to the beneficiaries?

Social Security payment amounts for August 21 & 28

The United States doesn’t have a set amount for SSDI or death payments. Will you get more or less money? That will depend on how much you worked, how much you paid in taxes to Social Security, and when you applied for benefits.

In 2024, if you are 70 years old and have worked at jobs that are covered by Social Security for 35 years and made the maximum amount of money that is taxed, you will get $4,873. But this is only the biggest payment for people who made a lot of money for a long time.

As of July 2024, seniors can get an average of $1,919 a month. In general, if you get SSDI payments, you could get $1,538. People who get SSI can get up to $943 a month, and the average is $695.
