ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. —
Several people from the Oregon Hill Fire Department and the Draper Rural Fire Department worked to put out a fire at Alltech Inc. in the Piedmont Triad.
It was around 6:47 p.m. when firefighters were called to the 11000 block of North Carolina Highway 770 to help the Draper Rural Fire Department.

According to the officials with the Draper Rural Fire Department, when they arrived, they discovered smoke emanating from the building. By 7:18 p.m., the fire had been brought under control, and the final unit left the site at approximately 8 p.m.
A number of volunteer fire departments, including the Bachelors Hall Volunteer Fire Department, the Ruffin Volunteer Fire Department, the Eden Fire Department, and the Leaks villa Rural Volunteer Fire Department, all contributed to the management of the fire.
The blaze was restricted to the interior of the silo, which incurred some minor damage as a result.
Even though the plant was occupied, there was no one present in the part where the fire started, hence there were no injuries sustained by anybody.
A total of forty firefighters were present at the scene of the incident. Rockingham County Emergency Medical Services, Eden Rescue Squad, and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office all provided assistance.
