People who get Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will soon get more Food Stamps. This comes after the US Department of Agriculture said that benefits would only go up in Alaska, the 48 mainland states, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia.
But after the Cost of Living Adjustment, people in Hawaii who get SNAP will get less money. The only people whose highest Food Stamp amounts will go down are those people.

SNAP maximum amounts for September before the COLA increase
USDA has said that the highest amounts will stay the same until September 30, 2024. Because of this, the most you can get as a single receiver in the 48 contiguous states and D.C. is $291. It won’t make a big difference after COLA because it will only go up to $292.
Up to $535, $766, or $943 can be given to a family of 2, 3, or 4 people. Homes with five, six, or seven people on SNAP can get up to $1,155, $1,386, or $1,532 in the same order.
In September, a SNAP EBT card for a family of eight will give them up to $1,751. The same family of eight can get up to $1,756 after COLA. So, it’s a very small raise that could make millions of people unhappy.
As of 2025, the amounts of food stamps will be different:
1: $292
2: $536
3: $768
4: $975
5: $1,158
6: $1,390
7: $1,536
8: $1,756
