Breathing Easier: Vermont New Program Helps Low-Income Car Owners Fix Up and Stay on the Road

Vermont’s New Initiative to Help Low-Income Car Owners

Fixing Cars, Improving Air Quality and Public Health

According to my champlain valleyVermont’s Department of Environmental Conservation has a new program to help people who don’t have much money fix their car’s problems. The name of the program is the Automotive Emissions Repair Assistance Pilot Program. One in Shelburne and one in Bennington are the places where people can take their cars to get fixed.

People who can’t pay to fix their car’s problems get help from the service. It is important to do this because a car that doesn’t run well can hurt people and the environment. People can get up to $2,500 from the scheme to fix their cars.
