According to The US Sun, starting Monday, August 26, families in Pomona, California, will get $500 each month through a new guaranteed income program. We want to help parents or guardians with low incomes who have kids younger than three. Out of the 600 people who applied, 250 will get $500 every month for 18 months. The other 350 people will be in a control group and get $20 each month. Both groups will take part in surveys by UCLA to study how the payments affect their lives.
To be eligible for the program, you need to live in Pomona, have a household income below 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, and be a parent or guardian of a young child. Some people give you money and tell you not to worry about paying it back. You can use it however you want.
