Driver Faces Charges After Woman Dies from Injuries
An NBC7 San Diego, report says that a 31-year-old guy from San Diego has been arrested for a hit-and-run that killed someone in Logan Heights early on August 1. At 3 a.m., a 49-year-old woman was crossing the street at the corner of National Avenue and 28th Street when she was hit by a white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado that was turning left. The driver then drove off, leaving her badly hurt.
Police and firefighters took the woman to the hospital, but she died soon after from her injuries. The suspect’s car was found by the San Diego Police and on Friday afternoon, the driver, Erick Rios, turned himself in. He is now in County Jail after being charged with vehicular manslaughter and illegal hit-and-run.
