East Oakland Father on Life Support After Being Shot While Sleeping at Home
A 20-year-old man from Oakland called Damon Roberts was arrested for shooting a father while he was sleeping at home, according to The Mercury News. A bullet went through the wall and hit Run Hua Kuang, 33, in the head. He was sleeping in his East Oakland flat at the time. Kuang had just gotten home from driving a delivery truck. He was taken to the hospital, where surgery took seven hours. He is now on life support and is trying to stay alive.

In 2005, Kuang brought his family to the United States from China so they could have a better life. Just him and his wife work to take care of their two young children and his parents. Kuang takes care of the whole family since he is the only one who knows English. His sister Jasmine talked about how hard he worked as a husband, father, and son. Someone set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for his medical bills, and the police are still investigating the killing of suspect Damon Roberts.
